Privacy Policy

Summary

TipRate does not collect, store or send any information about you to Kartech. There is no account and no sign-in, and the bill amounts, ratings and party sizes you enter stay on your device. The app is free and shows advertising from Google AdMob. Google may collect some device information to show and measure those ads, as described below.

Full Privacy Policy

Kartech LLC ("us", "we", or "our") publishes TipRate, a lighthearted tip calculator for iOS and Android (the "App"). This policy explains what information is collected when you use the App, by whom, and the choices you have. It applies only to the App; the kartech.com website has its own privacy policy.

Information we collect

None. The App does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal information, and it does not send anything you enter to us or to anyone else. Kartech does not operate any server that receives data from the App.

Advertising by Google AdMob

The App shows banner and full-screen advertisements served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To deliver, measure and limit fraud in those ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK built into the App may collect and send to Google:

  • your device's advertising identifier (the Android advertising ID, or Apple's IDFA if you allow tracking);
  • your IP address, from which an approximate location can be inferred;
  • device and app information, such as device model, operating system version and app version;
  • ad interactions, such as which ads were shown and whether you tapped them;
  • diagnostic information, such as crash logs and performance data.

This information is sent over an encrypted connection and is handled by Google under its own policies. Kartech does not receive it, except as aggregated, non-identifying reports about ad performance. Your choices

  • Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland). Where the law requires it, the App asks for your consent through Google's consent message before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time from the App's privacy options.
  • iPhone and iPad. The App asks your permission before allowing tracking. If you decline, the advertising identifier is not shared and you still see ads, but they are not personalized. You can change this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
  • Android. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings > Privacy > Ads (the exact path varies by device). Deleting it stops personalized ads.

Data retention and deletion

Because we hold no information from the App, there is nothing for us to delete. Uninstalling the App removes it from your device. Information collected by Google is kept and deleted under Google's policies; you can manage it at myaccount.google.com.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
